A golden brown halo
contains a deep brown ring
that encircles the deepest black sphere.

The three circular islands,
surrounded by a white sea,
into which streams of red and blue fall,
look at me.

The moving, continuously shifting islands
look at me
with the depths of the white sea surrounding them.

The circles look at me
with love, sometimes pain,
sometimes with fear or excitement –
for affection, for acceptance.

They don’t want my veneration,
but just want me to read them,
to understand them,
and not shy away
from love, pain, fear, or anxieties
that surround us.
They want me to face them.
